Office of Research Successfully Concludes First Session of Workshop on SPSS for Research Data Analysis

The Office of Research in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) of American International University-Bangladesh successfully organized the first session of the three-day workshop titled “SPSS for Research Data Analysis: From Basics to Hands-on Practice” on Thursday, 6 August 2026, at Room 3202, AIUB.

The workshop is being organized by Prof. Dr. Md. Asif Kamal, Research & Publication Steering Committee Member, Office of Research, AIUB, with the aim of enhancing research capacity and developing participants’ practical skills in quantitative data analysis using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).

The session was facilitated by Md. Mortuza Ahmmed, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, AIUB. The first session focused on SPSS Basics, Descriptive Statistics, and Bivariate Analysis, introducing participants to the fundamental features of SPSS and the application of basic statistical techniques for research data analysis.

The session was attended by faculty members and students from different departments of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, as well as participants from other faculties of AIUB. The active participation and engagement of the attendees contributed to the successful completion of the first session.

The remaining two sessions of the workshop will be held on the next two consecutive Thursdays, 20 and 27 August 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Room 3202. The second session will focus on Correlation, Regression, and Advanced Statistical Tests, while the final session will provide participants with hands-on practice to apply the statistical techniques covered throughout the workshop.

The workshop reflects AIUB’s continued commitment to strengthening research capacity among its faculty members and students and promoting the effective use of quantitative research methods across disciplines.
