On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the AIUB Business Club proudly organized a Membership Development Program (MDP) on Emotional Intelligence (EI), held at the Multipurpose Hall (Building D). This exclusive program was designed for the members of all student clubs at AIUB, with the aim of nurturing leadership qualities, enhancing interpersonal skills, and strengthening the emotional resilience of future leaders. With the support and guidance of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB and esteemed mentors, the event proved to be a day of intellectual engagement, leadership development, and practical learning.
The program had the distinct honor of welcoming Retd. Major General Ibne Fazal Shayekhuzzaman, BSP, SGP, afwc, psc, Bangladesh Army as the Distinguished Guest Speaker. Drawing upon his extensive leadership and life experiences, he delivered a thought-provoking session that explored the essence of emotional intelligence in real-life scenarios. He emphasized that while IQ is important for academic achievement, it is Emotional Intelligence (EI) that determines one’s ability to lead, inspire, and thrive in both professional and personal life. His reflections on empathy, stress management, decision-making, and resilience deeply resonated with the audience, motivating them to embrace EI as a cornerstone of personal and professional excellence.
The session was skillfully hosted by Mr. Prithibi Sarkar and Ms. Mahirah Tabassum, whose professionalism and warm hospitality set an engaging tone for the program.
The event was further graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries from AIUB:

Several of them delivered inspiring speeches, offering strategic advice on how students can nurture emotional intelligence in academic, professional, and personal settings. Their words created an atmosphere of learning, motivation, and inspiration.
To engage participants further, an interactive Q&A session was arranged, where students directly interacted with the guest speaker, seeking practical advice and reflecting on the application of EI in real-world contexts.
At the end of the program, the Honorable Guest was presented a Token of Appreciation to for his valuable time, guidance, and inspirational contribution. Certificates of participation were also distributed to attendees, marking the conclusion of the event on a warm and celebratory note.
Overall, the Membership Development Program was a resounding success, providing students with practical takeaways to apply emotional intelligence in academics, club activities, and future careers. By fostering a culture of emotional awareness, leadership, and resilience, the AIUB Business Club once again reaffirmed its commitment to the vision of “Leadership Beyond Practice.”
