The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) expanded AIUB's Global Partnership Network at the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2026, organized by Times Higher Education in Jakarta, Indonesia.
During the congress held at the Indonesia convention center, Jakarta, from June 22-25, 2026, AIUB delegation engaged in numerous bilateral meetings and networking sessions with university leaders from Asia and beyond. These interactions resulted
in several significant partnership outcomes.
During the event, AIUB successfully signed new Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the following institutions:
- Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (Indonesia)
- Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Indonesia)
- Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (Indonesia)
- University of the Visayas (Philippines)
- Cagayan State University (Philippines)
- Kalinga State University (Philippines)
- Ifugao State University (Philippines)
- Mountain Province State University (Philippines)
- Romblon State University (Philippines)
- University of Luzon (Philippines)
- Sorsogon State University (Philippines)
- Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Philippines)
- Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang (Indonesia)
- Quezon City University (Philippines)
These agreements will facilitate future collaborations in student and faculty mobility, joint research projects, academic exchanges, knowledge-sharing initiatives, curriculum development, and international cooperation activities.
The Delegation team from AIUB at the congress included:

- Prof. Dr. Dip Nandi – Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology
- Ms. Carlin Noelle Lamagna – Deputy Director, Office of Planning and Development
The delegation also strengthened relationships with several existing partner institutions. Notably, productive discussions were held with representatives from City University of Macau regarding the establishment of a student exchange program between the two universities. Both institutions expressed strong interest in launching the initiative as early as January 2027, creating new international learning opportunities for AIUB students.
In addition, AIUB engaged in promising discussions with two highly respected Philippine institutions - Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Jose Rizal University. These discussions focused on potential future MOUs and collaborative activities involving academic exchanges, research partnerships, and faculty development initiatives.
The congress also provided opportunities for AIUB to establish connections with some of Asia's leading universities, including Nanyang Technological University and Hanyang University. While these interactions were introductory in nature, they opened valuable channels for future dialogue and potential collaboration with two of the region's most highly regarded institutions.
