The AIUB Social Welfare Club – Shomoy successfully organized one of its signature events, “Oder Eid, Amader Khushi 2025”, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Kathpencil Pathshala, Tejgaon, Dhaka.

Throughout the week-long booth campaign and contribution collection drive, students, faculty members, and administrative staff across the AIUB campus supported the initiative, demonstrating exceptional solidarity and enthusiasm. In the final days leading up to Eid, dedicated club members voluntarily assembled gift packages filled with necessary food items to support underprivileged families during the festive period.

With the help of generous donations, the initiative successfully extended the spirit and warmth of Eid-ul-Fitr to the families of around 120 children enrolled at Kathpencil Pathshala - an educational institution that serves underprivileged communities and regularly hosts volunteer efforts from Shomoy club members.

On the day of the event, Professor Dr. Manzur H. Khan, Proctor of AIUB; Dr. Ziarat H. Khan, Deputy Director, Student Service Welfare (SSW), and Associate Professor, Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management; and Mr. Stanley Rodrick, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing, joined the club mentors—Mr. Hamidul Islam Hamid, Senior Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing, and Mr. Md. Monir Hossain, Lecturer, Department of Social Science to personally distribute the gift packs on-site.

Beyond addressing immediate needs, this thoughtful initiative helped nurture a deeper sense of compassion and unity among everyone involved. It reflected the club’s steadfast dedication to social responsibility and inspired others to engage in meaningful community service. Celebrating Eid alongside the children—witnessing their heartfelt joy—created lasting memories and profoundly impacted both the recipients and the volunteers.
