On October 17, 2024 four female faculty members, Ms. Susmita Ghosh (Associate Professor, Faculty of Engineering & Assessor (IQAC-AIUB)), Dr. Humayra Ferdous (Head, Dept. of Physics), Dr. Effat Jahan (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering) and Ms. Nazia Farhana (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Business Administrative) attended “The Business Plan Development Workshop” organized by WePOWER, an initiative dedicated to empowering women in the energy and power sectors. The workshop was chaired by Ms. Urmi Tamanna, Joint Secretary of the Power Division and Chair of the Bangladesh National Chapter, WePOWER, and facilitated by Ms. Alia Meher, Joint Secretary of the Power Division and General Secretary of the Chapter. Ms. Tanushree Bhoumik led the session, drawing on her extensive experience establishing WePOWER national chapters in India, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The primary aim of the workshop was to finalize the chapter’s management structure and work plan, ensuring effective operation and formal registration with the relevant authorities. These outcomes are critical for securing WePOWER’s sustainability. At the end of the event, the institutional partnership certificates were given to the three new partners, where AIUB was the only educational institution to receive the membership certificate
