The Media and Mass Communication (MMC) Department of the American International University- Bangladesh (AIUB) celebrated "MMC Day" with the theme "Bridging Motion - Weaving Bonds" on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. The festive event served as a platform to warmly welcome newly admitted students and bid a heartfelt farewell to those who have recently graduated, fostering a sense of community and continuity within the department.
Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Md. AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan, Adviser, MMC Department and Ms. Shania Abedin, Member of the Board of Trustees; and Heads of the Departments of various programs of AIUB.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman encouraged students to make their presence felt within the community with vibrance and vigor, urging them to embrace opportunities for growth and impact.
Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, commended the MMC Department for its vibrancy and wished the very best for its students, emphasizing the department's crucial role in shaping future media professionals.
Expressing gratitude to all distinguished guests, Prof. AJM Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan, Adviser of the MMC Department, emphasized the significance of events like MMC Day, which provide students with an invaluable opportunity to connect, inspire each other, and recharge for the semester ahead.
The program had different segments including welcoming freshers, bidding farewell to recent graduates, introducing prominent alumni, showcasing student projects and a vibrant cultural performance from the MMC students.
