AIUB at 10th Erasmus+ International Staff Exchange in MRU, Lithuania

It takes collaboration across communities to improve knowledge, skills, and attitudes today, and better lives around the world tomorrow. In order to expand and strengthen cooperation by exchanging ideas, practices, and experiences amongst partner institutions, the 10th Erasmus+ International Staff Exchange Week at the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) in Lithuania, brought together more than 15 representatives of various institutions of higher education from over 10 countries.

Representing the American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB), Ms. Shama Islam, an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Business Administration and a Special Assistant in the Office of Vice Chancellor and Student Affairs, and Md. Rakibul Alam, an Officer in the Office of Student Affairs were selected as participants for the program. From the 20th – 25th of June 2022, the Erasmus+ KA107 Staff Mobility Training and Scholarship Program focused on administrative operations of international affairs, student services, quality assurance, and research management at higher education institutions. The participants were given an insightful tour of the MRU campus premises and facilities, followed by briefing sessions of the 4 focal tracks and interactive discussions with the 4 Faculties of MRU, along with the graduation ceremony and community event as a closing of the academic year at the university. The program explored, not only the strategic management and academic prospects of the university, but also the culture, history, and landscapes of Lithuania.

Enabling collaborative cooperation and networking opportunities, the exchange program forged strong connections between the participating institutions, engaging in potential partnerships to make a greater impact on the holistic sustainable growth and progress of higher education, social development, and innovation in the long run.
