Department of Accounting and Department of Finance jointly organized a workshop on “Business Data Processing Using Microsoft Excel – Tips and Tricks” in view of enlighten students doing accounting and finance major with proper application of Microsoft Excel. The workshop was held on 6th December, 2010 in the Language Lab of Campus 5. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Md. Zakaria Masud, Head, Department of Accounting and Dr. Dulal Miah, Head, Department of Finance under two different phases. The workshop covered different topics of Microsoft Excel, particularly, preparation of projection table required to perform financial feasibility of any project; calculation of net present value, internal rate of return, future value and present value of any cash flows; preparation of loan amortization schedule; preparation of salary sheet for any business firm; application of best counting, sorting and filtering data set; application of vlookup formula and automation of individual tax calculation.
