Workshop held on Innovative Teaching Strategies

As part of its focus on making learning process effective and relevant, Department of English, AIUB organized a workshop entitled “Innovative Teaching in English Literature” on October 24, 2019. Dr. Shamsad Mortuza, professor (on leave), Department of English, University of Dhaka, who is also the Pro-Vice Chancellor of University of Liberal Arts – Bangladesh (ULAB), was invited as the resource person of the workshop. Followed by a welcome note by Mr. M Hamidul Haque, Head of the department, the workshop began under the supervision of the eminent professor. The two-hour long workshop consisted of open discussion and feedback session, with an aim to to find out, discuss about, and informally assess the possible ways through which not only innovation can be brought to teaching literature, but also the dying relevance of the very subject can be revived. All faculty members actively participated and shared their thoughts. The workshop ended with the presence of Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, hon’ble Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, AIUB and his valuable remark on the importance of continuing to organize similar workshops in future.
