On Wednesday, January 19, 2025, the Faculty of Engineering (FE) organized seminars on “Opportunities for young engineers of EEE to work on Analog Circuit Design with Ulkasemi” & “How to think out of the box: My Few Innovations” supported by Engineering Students' Association of Bangladesh (ESAB) AIUB Unit Face at AIUB Auditorium.
The opening remark was delivered by Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain (Dean, FE, AIUB; Advisor, ESAB AIUB Unit Face), who warmly welcomed distinguished speakers and all the attendees. He provided an insightful overview of analog circuit design's importance in modern technological education. He encouraged students to develop specialized skills and stay updated with technological advancements.
The event had two distinguished speakers who provided comprehensive insights into the analog circuit industry. The first session, titled “Opportunities for young engineers of EEE to work on Analog Circuit Design with Ulkasemi,” was delivered by Dr. Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal (Senior Director of Engineering at Ulkasemi). He shared insights about the growing demand for analog circuit designers in the industry. Dr. Kamal highlighted the opportunities for young engineers to pursue careers, stressing the value of developing professional skills in analog design to advance their careers in this dynamic field.
The second session, titled “How to think out of the box: My Few Innovations” was presented by Dr. Ion Opris (Ulkasemi, USA) who gave an insightful presentation highlighting the essential skills required for young engineers to thrive in the industry. Dr. Ion shared perspectives on how Ulkasemi offers opportunities to work on innovative technologies, enabling engineers to make significant contributions to this dynamic sector. Finally, an interactive Q&A session was held, enabling attendees to engage directly with the speakers and seek clarification on the seminar's key technical insights.
These seminars primarily align with SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting specialized knowledge and skills for young engineers and fostering innovation in education. It also touches on SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by highlighting advancements in analog circuit design and encouraging students to contribute to cutting-edge technological developments in the industry.
Prof. Dr. ABM. Siddique Hossain concluded the session with insightful feedback that summarized the primary discussions and highlighted the seminar's significance in the fields of professional growth and innovation in technology. Dr. Shahriyar Masud Rizvi (Associate Professor, FE &, Deputy Director [Dr. Anwarul Abedin Institute of Innovation]) provided a speech that encouraged and inspired the assembled audience. The event concluded with an expression of gratitude, as tokens of appreciation were graciously presented by Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain and Dr. Shahriyar Masud Rizvi to the esteemed speakers and honored guests. Honorable faculty members, Mr. Md. Shahariar Parvez (Assistant Professor & Special Assistant [OSA], FE; Motivator of ESAB AIUB Unit Face) and Mr. Tamim Hossain (Assistant Professor, FE) were present among the participants. The occasion was gracefully marked by a group photograph, preserving the memory of the remarkable gathering.
