On Monday, May 26, 2025, the University’s Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA) and the department of Management & HRM jointly organized a seminar titled "The Importance of Performance Appraisal for Employee Management." The event featured esteemed guest speaker Mr. Hasan Taiab Imam, Chief People Officer of Bengal Group of Industries, who shared valuable insights from his extensive experience in human resource management. Mr. Imam is an alumnus of AIUB.
The guest was introduced by the Director Office of Placement and Alumni (OPA), Mr. R. Tareque Moudud FCMA, who welcomed them to the program.
During the seminar, Mr. Hasan Taiab Imam highlighted the critical role performance appraisals play in aligning individual goals with organizational objectives, motivating employees, identifying training needs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. He emphasized how structured performance evaluations not only drive productivity but also support employee development and retention.
The session was well attended by students from the Faculty of Business Administration, sparking thoughtful discussions on modern HR practices and future challenges in talent management. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, providing participants with the opportunity to interact directly with the guest speaker and gain a deeper understanding of performance appraisal systems in real-world corporate settings.
