Seminar on “Design of Printed Antennas for 4G Communication Devices”

A seminar on Design of Printed Antennas for 4G Communication Deviceswas held on 31st July, 2011. The seminar organized by Mr. Rinku Basak, Assistant Prof. and Coordinator, Dept. of EEE was held in room 266 of Campus 2. The Seminar was conducted by Dr. Sheikh Sharif Iqbal, Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering Department, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. The seminar was attended by Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain, Professor and Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Bashudeb Chandra Ghosh, Professor, Mr. Rinku Basak, Assistant Prof. and Coordinator, Dept. of EEE, Dr. Md. Tarique, Assistant Prof., Dr. Md. Kamrul Hassan, Assistant Prof., Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan, Assistant Prof., Mr. Akram Hossain Chowdhury, Lecturer, Mr. Partha Protim Dash, Lecturer, Mr.  Shuvasish Dey, Lecturer, Mr. Subrata Biswas, Lecturer and Students of Dept. of EEE. Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the fourth generation of Cellular Network (4G) solution that promises significantly higher data rates for both up & download, thereby enabling a wide variety of Internet Protocol (IP) services such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and online gaming.

The theory and design process of a printed antenna like Meander Line Antenna (MLA) for LTE handsets have been presented in the seminar. The design and optimization of a Multiple-Input/Multiple-Output (MIMO) Antenna for LTE devices have also been presented.
State of art regarding online teaching tools for engineering education has been introduced in the last part of the seminar.
