On 19^th October 2022, Wednesday, Department of Management Information Systems, Faculty of Business Administration, American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a seminar titled, “Career Development: Why should anybody hire you?” at Multipurpose Hall (D Building), AIUB from 11:00 am-12:30 pm. Mr. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid (Assistant Professor, Faculty of MIS, AIUB) inaugurated the session by welcoming the speaker and the guests.

The resource person, Ms. Nasrina Bari, CEO of "Be Global" (a 360 Business Consultation Firm), commenced her presentation hereafter with a quick introduction to herself and discussed the need of developing soft skills for professional interactions with the students. She has around twenty years of business and IT expertise. She acquainted AIUB students to the actual job interview process, as well as career planning and growth, with great success.

The seminar's primary objective was to introduce students to career planning and development concepts, interview preparation, and interviewing best practices. Students participated actively in the seminar, which was very engaging and interesting. Students were briefed on the significance of job descriptions and how to develop professional objectives so that they would be able to compose realistic goals. They asked the resource person a number of questions on career planning and self-improvement abilities. During the workshop, students also discussed their desired employment and career goals and got directions on how to reach their objectives. The resource Person, Ms. Nasrina Bari, also discussed the four essential components of a typical cover letter and resume format. Students were given the opportunity to learn the skills required in the business world, preparing them for the challenges. These sort of seminar is often organized by the Department of Management Information Systems to help students understand the business world's true image and requirements. Finally, Ms. Nazia Farhana, Assistant Professor, Dept. of MIS, expressed her gratitude towards the speaker in her closing remarks. The webinar was graced by the presence of Mr. Jubayer Suhan, Dept. of MIS, Dr. Mohammad Ali, Dept. of Management and HRM, Ms. Shahnaz Zarin Haque, Dept. of OSCM and Ms. Azmery Sultana, Dept. of MIS.
