The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a three-day Progress Seminar on AIUB-Funded Research Projects, held on February 4, 5, and 27, 2025, at the FBA Meeting Room, Annex-4, Level 2, AIUB Campus. Each one-hour session showcased cutting-edge research supported by AIUB, emphasizing academic excellence and societal impact. This seminar showcased the impactful research projects funded and supported by AIUB, highlighting the institution's commitment to fostering a culture of research excellence.
The seminar commenced with a presentation by Md. Tamzidul Islam, PhD, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management. The progress status of two AIUB-funded projects was presented by him during this session. The first project, "Industry Academia Collaboration and Value Co-Creation," investigated the potential of collaborative projects between academia and industry. The second project, "Lean Six Sigma in the Education Sector," was designed to improve the efficacy of educational environments by implementing lean principles.
On the second day, Professor Mohammed Jashim Uddin, Ph.D, Convener of Research and Publications at AIUB, shared inspiring words and valuable insights for young researchers. He provided valuable tips on how young researchers can focus on publishing impactful research in top-tier journals, gain citations, and contribute to the scientific community. Md. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid, Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Management Information Systems, presented his article on “What Factors Streamline Adoption of AI-Powered Language Translation Tools?” This presentation was previously featured at the prestigious 27th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology organized by the IEEE Bangladesh Chapter. Additionally, Md. Hasibul Islam presented his paper titled “Exploring the Impact of Goals and Motivation on Young Consumers’ Sustainable Plastic Management Behavior Using the Theory of Reasoned Goal Pursuit.” Published in the Q2 journal Cleaner Waste Systems, this study contributes to societal well-being by addressing sustainable practices. Islam also shared the progress of his six ongoing projects, demonstrating AIUB's commitment to continuous research and innovation. On the final day, Professor Rafiqul Islam Talukdar, Ph.D, presented a paper titled “Similarity, Plagiarism, and Academic Citation.” This paper, published in Information Systems Engineering and Management, was presented at the International Conference on Advanced Teaching
Instructions and Learning (ICATIL-25) in Manila, Philippines. Dr. Md. Khaled Amin, Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing, discussed “Learning through E-Learning Platforms in the Post-Pandemic Era in Bangladesh: Aspects of Facilitating Conditions.” Amin's paper was also presented at the 27th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Rezbin Nahar (Director, Undergraduate Program, BBA) and Professor Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam (Director, Graduate Program [MBA & EMBA]). Department heads of FBA and other distinguished faculties of AIUB were present throughout the seminar. This seminar has contributed significantly to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. By promoting research in areas such as sustainable plastic management and e-learning platforms, AIUB is fostering innovation and responsible practices that align with these global goals. The emphasis on industry-academia collaboration also supports the development of infrastructure and innovation, while the focus on quality education enhances the capacity of future leaders to address societal challenges.
