The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a vibrant Poster Competition on Information Technology in Business on May 21, 2025. The event was held in the open space between Annex 2 and 3, Level 2, providing a dynamic and collaborative environment where students showcased innovative posters highlighting the role of IT in transforming business processes, decision-making, and customer engagement.
The competition attracted significant attention across departments, with students creatively presenting topics such as digital transformation, AI in business, e-commerce strategies, and data-driven decision-making. Faculty members from the Department of MIS—Mr. Mohammad Baijed, Mr. Khandakar Tahurul Islam, Mr. Nur Al Ahad, Ms. Nazia Farhana were actively engaged throughout the event. Faculty members from other departments also visited the poster exhibition, interacted with the participants, and offered constructive feedback, adding a cross-disciplinary dimension to the competition.
The presence of Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA); Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director of the Undergraduate Program; and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director of the Graduate Program, elevated the significance of the event and inspired the student participants.
The Prize Giving Ceremony took place at Room 3205 at 4:15 PM on the same day. Awards were presented to the Champion, 1st Runner-up, and 2nd Runner-up teams by Dr. Rezbin Nahar and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, acknowledging the students' creativity, analytical thinking, and communication skills. The competition was generously sponsored by MSI, whose support contributed to the event’s success and student motivation.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, the poster competition emphasized the integration of technology and innovation into business education. It encouraged students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, thereby promoting critical thinking, research, and practical communication.
