The AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) successfully organized the ACES Membership Orientation 2025 on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall, D-Building of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The event welcomed 100 new members and volunteers, fostering a sense of belonging and enthusiasm within the ACES community. Membership kits were distributed to new members, officially integrating them into the organization.
The program began with a promo video showcasing ACES’s journey and achievements, followed by the inaugural speech from Dr. Shameem Ahmad (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), who shared insights on “Research and Publication for Undergraduate Students.”
Adding immense value to the event, two AIUB ACES alumni from the 2023 committee, Mr. Md. Nazmul Islam Nishad (Co-founder, Dark Kak; IoT and Animatronics Robot Developer; Former Vice-Chairperson (Technical), ACES 2022-23) and Ms. Shababa Binte Hossain (Co-founder, Dark Kak; AR/IoT Developer and 3D Artist; Former Planning and Development Coordinator, ACES 2022-23), delivered an inspiring technical talk on “The Path to Internship: Building Your Startup.”
Furthermore, former ACES leaders including Mr. Rashedul Hasan Raihan (Chairperson, ACES 2022-23), Mr. Niloy Quadiri (Chairperson, ACES 2023-24), and Mr. Shohan Morol (Vice-Chairperson, External Affairs, ACES 2022-23) shared valuable career advice and professional guidance, enriching the orientation experience for the new members.
The highlight of the event was the welcome address by Professor Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Professor and Director, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), who warmly greeted the new ACES members and encouraged them to actively engage in engineering innovations. Following this, a Crest and Frame were presented to the alumni as a token of appreciation, handed over by Dr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain (Associate Professor and Department Head, CoE, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) and Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan.
The event concluded with a group photo capturing the unity and enthusiasm of the ACES members and alumni. Light refreshments were served, allowing participants to network and celebrate the success of the orientation. The event’s success was a testament to the dedication and teamwork of the ACES members and volunteers, reinforcing AIUB’s commitment to nurturing future engineers and innovators.
