Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between AIUB & Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the AMERICAN INTERNATIOAL UNIVERSITY – BANGLADESH (AIUB) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been renewed on 1st October, 2012. On behalf of AIUB, Mr. Abdul Kader Nazmul, Director (Under Graduate Programs), Faculty of Business Administration and on behalf of BCB, Mr. Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, Acting Chief Executive Officer has signed the renewal of the MOU. It will remain valid for the next 3 years effective from 1st October 2012 to 30th September 2015. Among several points, the main focus of the MOU is to provide an organized and sustainable partnership between American International University-Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Cricket Board to assist in the overall educational development of young cricketers of Bangladesh. Under this MOU, AIUB will continue to be the official Education Partner of BCB for the next three years. AIUB will be providing educational training, teaching and guiding through the short term English Language Classes / Programs, Leadership Courses, Cultural Awareness Classes & Computer Fundamental Courses for the BCB selected National players, SAHARA-BCB Academy players, Pace Foundation players, Under 19 Squad players, U17 Squad players, Women’s Cricket Wing National players, Coaching staff & Coordinating / Operational Staff and Potential management staff members of BCB as part of their education program. The BCB will send a number of promising young players who will be screened by AIUB prior to awarding AIUB Scholarships to six of them and they will be enrolled into the Undergraduate/Graduate degree programs of AIUB with the sole purpose of facilitating these players to obtain education in the American International University -Bangladesh. AIUB representatives will be entrusted with guidance, selection of subjects and courses and supervision of studies of such students. AIUB will also provide three scholarships for the BCB officials to pursue Executive MBA program at AIUB.

For the computer skills development of the BCB players and officials, in this renewal AIUB has agreed to initiate and setup a computer lab at the National Cricket Academy in Mirpur. In each year (upto Sept. 30, 2015), 6 AIUB students will get the opportunity for internship at BCB Management office or any other BCB office located in Bangladesh. Both the AIUB and BCB officials are very delighted to have a long term relationship between them under this MOU program.
