Lifelong Learning-Public Resources at AIUB
Access to educational resources for those not studying at university
American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) is dedicated to expanding access to quality education for a broader audience beyond its enrolled students. As part of its commitment to community engagement and knowledge-sharing, AIUB offers several educational resources free of charge to the public. The Dr. Anwarul Abedin Lecture Series is a notable initiative that brings in distinguished experts from various fields to share insights and expertise with both AIUB students and the wider community, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Additionally, AIUB is committed to providing accessible, quality education to those outside the university through its Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) and other initiatives. The mission of AIUB-ICE is to meet the lifelong educational and training needs of all learners in the local community and the region. Since 2007, AIUB has offered specialized ICT courses and professional certifications, including Cisco, Microsoft Imagine Academy, and AWS programs, to help students develop practical skills for the job market. AIUB also launched Post Graduate Diploma programs in 2020, with plans for future Professional Master’s offerings.
To further promote academic exchange, AIUB hosts total four conferences, two conferences annually, covering diverse fields such as engineering, business, technology, and social sciences. These conferences allow external participants to engage with cutting-edge research and network with professionals and academics. Not only that, in Bangladesh AIUB is the first educational institution to host The Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) Academic Conference 2023 and The Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2023 of the APQN. AIUB also organizes symposia on emerging topics, encouraging collaborative learning and intellectual discussion open to the public. Through these initiatives, AIUB plays an active role in supporting the education and professional development of the broader community, helping to bridge gaps in knowledge and making learning accessible to all.
American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) offers free access to educational resources for those not studying at the university through its scholarly journals, AIUB Journal of Business and Economics (AJBE) and AIUB Journal of Science and Engineering (AJSE). These publications serve as platforms to promote innovation and knowledge-sharing in the fields of business, economics, science, and technology. The AIUB Journal of Business and Economics (AJBE), published by the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, disseminates original, empirical research, extending knowledge in business and economics. It provides resources for both academic and industry professionals, focusing on issues that enhance understanding of functional and support areas in business. AJBE supports academics, students, and managers by granting free access to online resources in this field. Meanwhile, the AIUB Journal of Science and Engineering (AJSE) seeks to advance academic and research efforts in Science, Technology, and Engineering. AJSE, indexed in SCOPUS since 2018, encourages academicians, researchers, and industry leaders to publish and access research that fosters technological progress and innovation. By offering these journals as free educational resources, AIUB contributes to the academic and professional development of a wider community, fulfilling its mission to make quality research accessible beyond campus borders.
 
In today’s business field, a learner must have competencies on various skills in addition to cognitive development. Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) in AIUB is in the forefront in implementing OBE based curriculum under the framework and guidelines of University Grants Commission and Bangladesh Accreditation Council. The faculty firmly believes in holistic development of the students and in pursuance of this ambition, FBA offers free certificate courses on various soft skill development areas. So far, courses have been offered in the following fields: MS Excel, SPSS, Emotional Intelligence, Data Analytics, Blockchain technology, Lean Sig Sigma, MS Project Management, Contemporary areas in the field of accounting and finance. A large number of students participated in this training programs so far and developed their skills in these fields. In future, FBA will continue this endeavor and offer a wide range of courses on a larger scale.
 
AIUB has provided free courses through Coursera, offering students and alumni valuable opportunities to earn certificates and awards in a variety of fields. Through this partnership, AIUB enables access to high-quality online courses led by top educators and industry professionals, covering topics in technology, business, health, and more. This initiative empowers learners to develop new skills, advance in their careers, and enhance their expertise in subjects aligned with the modern job market.

AIUB provides free access to online resources through DSpace, a digital repository offering students, faculty, and researchers a rich collection of academic materials. DSpace hosts a variety of resources, including research papers, theses, and academic publications, supporting AIUB’s commitment to knowledge sharing and academic advancement for its community.
 
Free access to campus facilities and equipment
AIUB provides free access to campus facilities and equipment to support educational and community-building initiatives, such as the "Nationwide Coding Bootcamp on Blockchain." Organized by the MIS Department at AIUB on December 11, 2023, and sponsored by Women in Digital and AnitaB.org, this workshop aimed to increase women’s participation in the technology sector. The event aligns with AIUB’s commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG-4 (Quality Education), SDG-5 (Gender Equality), and SDG-8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Through free access to facilities, AIUB fosters inclusive learning environments that empower students and the wider community to thrive in innovative fields.
