IEEE AIUB Student Branch organized a seminar on- “Higher Study in North America with GRE and TOEFL”

On 19th February 2020, IEEE AIUB Student Branch successfully organized an informative seminar titled “Higher Study in North America with GRE and TOEFL” in collaboration with the IEEE Young Professionals Bangladesh Section and Faculty of Engineering, AIUB. The seminar was conducted by Sanowar Hossain Shamim, GRE & TOEFL Instructor, American Center, Bangladesh; Founder, GREfly, Graduate Resources Enhancing Center (GREC). The seminar was inaugurated by the opening remarks from Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique HossainAdvisor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB, who discussed the importance of postgraduate degrees for a successful career. In addition, he discussed the benefits of studying in North America as it has the most dynamic and adaptable education system responsive to the needs of a vast, multicultural student community from all over the world. He concluded by discussing the indispensable roles of GRE & TOEFL examinations for procuring admission to overseas universities.

After that, the speaker Sanowar Hossain Shamim took the stage and initiated the session by discussing the importance of GRE and TOEFL examinations for those who are keen on pursuing higher studies abroad. He talked about the examination structure and elaborately discussed about different sections of the GRE & TOEFL examinations along with the keys to succeeding them.  In addition, he talked in detail about the importance of having good English writing, reading and speaking skills for becoming a firm contender to any designated occupation. The speaker ended the discussion with an interactive Question-Answer session.

Afterward, Dr. Mohammad Hasan ImamCounselor, IEEE AIUB Student Branch; Advisor, IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, AIUB Student Branch Chapter; Senior Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB took the stage and delivered the concluding speech where he discussed the necessities of going abroad for pusuing higher studies. He also motivated the participants for developing various practical skills. Later, Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam presented a token of appreciation to Sanowar Hossain Shamim. A group photo session was carried out which marked the end of the seminar.
