The “Grant Mapping & Opportunity Identification Workshop” was successfully held on Monday, 26 January 2026, bringing together faculty members and researchers for an intensive and interactive learning session focused on research funding opportunities and effective proposal development.
The workshop commenced at 11:00 AM with a welcome tea session, during which participants collected workshop materials and engaged in informal networking. This was followed by the inaugural session, where the workshop convenor Irfat Alam, Assistant Professor, Department of Architecture, AIUB, formally welcomed the participants, outlined the objectives of the program, and introduced the resource persons.
The first technical session featured an introductory lecture by M. Arefeen Ibrahim, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Architecture, AIUB. His presentation provided an overview of the workshop theme and highlighted key components of grant proposals, including UGC grant mechanisms, funding opportunities, and relevant case studies. The session also shared precedents of successful grant applications, helping participants gain practical insights into effective grant strategies. An interactive Q&A segment encouraged active engagement and clarification of ideas.
The workshop then moved into an activity-based session, where participants brainstormed research ideas and explored potential funding opportunities. Resource persons and assistants facilitated structured discussions, guiding participants through the process of mapping research concepts with suitable grants. This was followed by an interactive discussion session in which participants presented their concepts, methodologies, and expected outcomes. Constructive feedback, critical discussions, and concept clarifications helped refine the proposed ideas and align them more effectively with grant requirements.
The program concluded with a valedictory session, which included certificate distribution, a vote of thanks, and a group photograph. Participants later joined a networking lunch, marking the formal conclusion of the workshop at 1:30 PM.
Overall, the workshop provided a practical and collaborative platform for enhancing participants’ understanding of grant mapping, opportunity identification, and research proposal development, fostering a stronger culture of research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
