“Future of Retail and Supply Chain Management" seminar organized by OSCM, FBA

On February 24, 2024, the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM), Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) organized a seminar entitled “Future of Retail and Supply Chain Management ".  The prime purpose of the seminar was to develop an on the future of one of the very prominent fields in business-retail and supply chain and how to chart their career and prepare accordingly.  As we know, the global pandemic, the changing landscape of geo-political scenario and robust technological advancement exposed lots of uncertainty in the field of supply chain and retail sector, our future graduates need to be well aware of those challenges and prepare themselves accordingly. This time, the key resource person was from the same field with years of experience- Mr. Khalid Hossain, Chief Business Officer, Amanna Group.

  

The program was initiated and planned by Dr. Md. Tamzidul Islam (Head, OSCM) as part of the continuous quality enhancement initiative under FBA. At the beginning, Dr. Rezbin Nahar (Director, UG-FBA), on behalf of AIUB, expressed sincere gratitude to the guests and other audience of the seminar for his valuable time and presence.  She also shared her opinion regarding the importance of this field and how to prepare for the future job market. Then, Mr. Khalid Hossain shared his career journey in a nutshell and went through the process of supply chain and retail from his experience.  He also highlighted some of his key achievements in his professional career and motivated the students pursue their careers in this demanding field. Lastly, Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam (Director, Graduate Programs-FBA) delivered the vote of thanks and concluding remarks. The program was coordinated and hosted by Mr. Zahid Anam (Lecturer, FBA). Dr. Mohammad Rashedul Hoque, Dr. Anisa Khatun, Md. Hasibul Islam, Dr. Obaidul Islam Jr. and other faculty members of FBA were also present at the seminar. The program ended with a Q&A session and many thoughtful questions from students and faculty members were addressed during that session. Lastly, AIUB expressed its sincere commitment to continue to work with the industry in the future. This event was a great success, featuring insightful discussions and expert speakers in the field of career planning and professional development.
