The Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration organized a seminar on the Holistic VAT Calculation Framework in the media studio [Annex 2] from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm on Tuesday, January 07, 2025. The seminar was entirely organized for the students of the Principle’s and Practice of Taxation, and Managerial Accounting course.
The key speaker was A.K.M Anisuzzaman -ACMA, Manager- Indirect Tax & Advisory Services, Rahman Rahman Haque, Chartered Accountants (KPMG in Bangladesh). The seminar provided a comprehensive exploration of a unified framework designed to streamline VAT (Value-Added Tax) calculations across industries. Then he unveiled a new toolkit designed to assist businesses in implementing the Holistic VAT Calculation Framework effectively. It was an interactive session and students actively participated in this session. Other faculty members of accounting were also present.
The seminar was arranged by Dr Md Sazzadur Rahman Khan FCMA, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting. The event's context addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on SDG-4 (Quality Education). Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Professor and Head of Accounting gave the welcome speech. At the end of the session, Dr. Kamrul Hasan, Professor and Head of Accounting gave a vote of thanks and provided a token gift to the key speaker.
