On 29^th February, 2024, the Department of Accounting organized an enriching study tour for its students at the esteemed Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). The tour aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to the professional landscape of accounting and management within the country. Nestled in the heart of Dhaka, the ICMAB stands as a beacon of excellence in the field of cost and management accounting. As students stepped into the institute's premises, they were greeted by an aura of professionalism and dedication to the craft. The tour commenced with an insightful presentation on the role of cost and management accountants in driving organizational success, delivered by seasoned professional Dr. Mohammad Zakaria Masud FCMA who is the Professor and Director of academic affair division at the ICMAB.

One of the highlights of the tour was the opportunity for students to engage in interactive sessions with practicing professionals. These sessions provided a platform for students to gain valuable insights into the practical aspects of cost management, budgeting, and financial analysis. Through engaging discussions and real-world case studies, students gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities inherent in the field.

Moreover, the tour included a comprehensive tour of the institute's state-of-the-art facilities, including its library stocked with an extensive collection of resources on accounting and management. Students were also given a glimpse into the various certification programs offered by the institute, empowering them to chart their career paths in the realm of cost and management accounting. This endeavor fulfills the goal no. 4 of SDG (Quality Education), that ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Through this tour students are able to understand how cost and management accountant can contribute to achieve the goal no. 9 of SDG (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by implementing sustainable and innovative ideas for industrialization.

Beyond the academic aspect, the study tour fostered a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among the students. As they navigated through the corridors of the institute, exchanging ideas and perspectives, bonds were forged that transcended the boundaries of the classroom. This program was organized by Sazia Afrin, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Business Administration AIUB and other faculty members from the same department namely Dr, Md Sazzadur Rahman khan, Niaz Mohammad & Saeeda Tajrian also coordinated the program. Overall, the program was supervised & directed by the head of the department of Accounting Dr. Kamrul Hasan. The Department of Accounting humbly appreciates the openhanded support extended by the Associate Dean (FBA) & Professor Dr. Farheen Hassan, Director (MBA program) Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director (BBA program) Dr. Rezbin Nahar and the AIUB management for successfully conducting the study tour.

In conclusion, the study tour at the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh was a resounding success, providing students with a holistic learning experience that combined theoretical knowledge with practical insights.
