Engineering Students’ Association of Bangladesh (ESAB) AIUB Unit Face was successful at arranging seminar and technical talks on the occasion of "National Innovation Week" at AIUB, EEE Seminar Room-266, Building-2, on 24^th and 28^th of May, 2015. “National Innovation Week” is a weeklong project, organized by all unit faces of ESAB. The main purpose of “Innovation Week” is to inspire the young generation to utilize their creative ideas in developing leadership skills and also increase awareness among people, in using latest technology during natural calamities like earthquake.

ESAB AIUB Unit Face hosted the inaugural day of the weeklong event with a seminar featuring “Earthquake Awareness”on 24^th May, 2015. The seminar started with the national anthem followed by a brief promo video, focusing on ESAB's mission, vision and activities. Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan (Associate Professor  & Head ,Undergraduate Program, Dept. of EEE, AIUB) delivered the inaugural speech. He appreciated the activities of ESAB and inspired the participants for their innovative ideas. He ended his speech declaring the opening of the innovation week program. Afterwards, Mr. Flabian Shaikat Shikder, an executive member of Fire Service Volunteer Association & ESAB volunteer, was invited to start the session. He has a brilliant work experience with the rescue team during Rana Plaza incident and he has also been to Nepal to serve the people there after recent devastating earthquake. He showed an introductory video about earthquake and gave a brief explanation why it happens. Later on, he moved to the precautionary part, sharing ideas on how to stay prepared before a major earthquake and explaining the steps to follow during earthquake. He also covered topics regarding the duties after earthquake which is very essential

Technical Talks on ‘Leadership Skill Development’ and General Knowledge Competition was included in the closing ceremony on 28^th of May. Mr. Sadman Bari Aquib, Alumni, Department of EEE, AIUB & Young Professional Trainee at BRAC was invited to present a technical talk on Leadership Skill Development. He presented a PowerPoint presentation on ‘Leadership Management’. Through the presentation he emphasised on learning, empathy, attitude, direction, education, realization, strength, honesty and innovation to become a successful leader.

Afterwards, Mr. Sultanul Nahian Hasnat (Asst. Professor, Faculty of Operations Management, AIUB) gave away an informative speech on Operation Management. He described the classifications of managers, reasons to choose Operation Management, future and offered courses of Operation Management. He also briefed about the Inventory Country System. He also narrated ABC professional liabilities like- PMA (Project Management Institute), ISCEA-USA.

Later on, Mr. Sultanul Nahian Hasnat and Mr. Sadman Bari Aquib were provided with certificates by Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan, as a mark of respect to their effort to make the event more successful. The General Knowledge Competition commenced right after, where participants got to take part by answering some very interesting questions.

Mr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE ; Special Assistant, OSA, AIUB & Mentor, ESAB AIUB Unit Face) provided the closing speech in which he officially declared the end of the whole week long event. He also handed over the certificates to the winners of the General Knowledge Competition. Tariq Chowdhury became the champion, Md. Minar Ahmed became the runner up and Shahadat Hossain Shimul became the second runner up.  Ms.  Tajbia Karim (Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, AIUB & Motivator, ESAB AIUB Unit Face) ,Mr. Tawsif  Ibne Alam (Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, AIUB & Motivator, ESAB AIUB Unit Face), Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer ,Dept. of EEE, AIUB) , Mr. Md. Sajid Hossain (Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, AIUB) Mr. Mehedi Hasan (Lecturer ,Dept. of EEE, AIUB),  Ms. Sumaiya Umme Hani (Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, AIUB) and Mr. Md. Rifat Hazari (Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, AIUB)  had made the event  more vivid by their presence and support. The events were hosted by Ms. Siam Haque and Ms. Raisa Haque. Executives and all organizing and working members of ESAB attended the events.
