Department of Computer Engineering (CoE) in collaboration with ACES organized a seminar titled “Higher Study in University of Technology Sydney (UTS)”

Department of Computer Engineering (CoE) in collaboration with AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) organized a seminar titled “Higher Study in University of Technology Sydney (UTS)” on Tuesday (February 12, 2019) in the Multipurpose hall of AIUB. The program started at 4 PM with the participation of about 160 students belonging to various departments of the university. The objective of the seminar was to give the students all possible information about educational based programs available in the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and discussed about viable opportunities for the students in Australia. The seminar was presented by Dr. Sam Ferguson, Deputy Head of School (Teaching and Learning), School of Software, UTS, Australia.

Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) inaugurated the seminar by greeting the speakers and the students with his perceptive speech. He conversed about the significance of staying updated with the rapid change of technology in this modern era. He also advised the fresh graduates to pursue higher studies in the developed countries like Australia and many more. After that, he welcomed the guest speaker Dr. Sam Ferguson (Deputy Head of School (Teaching and Learning), School of Software, UTS, Australia) to broach forward his interactive presentation among the students. In his speech, he mentioned about some of the vital information of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and appreciated the academic performances of the students pursuing their studies in this university. In addition, he showed through his presentation slides how the students are assessed based on their activities like skill and technical development, team work, creativity test, software development and many more. He briefly discussed about the various programs which are available in the engineering department and information technology. Lastly, he informed the audience about the credits, majors and minors, study-duration, and merit based scholarship programs which are available in his university. Afterwards, a short question answer session was held which was beneficial for the students as many information like the job and accommodation facilities were given during this discussion.

The program came to an end with the inspirational speech of Prof. Dr. A.B.M. Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) where he motivated the students to fix a goal and work accordingly in order to succeed in life. Finally, he conveyed acknowledgement to the guest speakers and gave them a token of appreciation. Dr. Mohammad Hasan Imam (Senior Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Kawshik Shikder (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB), Mr. Safayet Ahmed (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB & Motivator of ACES), and Mr. Md. Abid Hasan (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) graced the ceremony with their presence.
