An event entitled “Culinary Tourism in Bangladesh” was organized by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management association with the Department of Marketing of Faculty of Business Administration of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) on May 12, 2025.
The main attraction of the event was the stalls of different types of food items and sweets arranged on the lawn between Annex 4 and Annex 5 of the University. Foods were arranged in the stalls by the students of different departments of FBA, and CSE. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Member, AIUB Board of Trustees, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge, FBA, Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director BBA Program, Prof. Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Head of the Department of Marketing & THM along with other Heads and Teachers and the Officials of AIUB were present in the inauguration ceremony.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Saida Shinichi, Honorable Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, the Hon. Vice Chancellor, and other top officials of the Embassy of Japan at Dhaka and AIUB. The delegates visited the stalls and appreciated the students a lot.
The students were delighted to be present at the event. The objective of organizing this event was in line with key sustainable goal (SDG) of the United Nations “Quality Education.” The focus of the Department of Tourism and hospitality management on organizing this type of event reflects AIUB's commitment to excellence in education and its dedication to nurturing future professionals in the domain of tourism and hospitality management.
