BIZ-TECH 4.0 INTER-COLLEGE BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION AND QUIZ CONTEST

The Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) and the Department of Human Resource Management (HRM) of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), American International University – Bangladesh (AIUB), jointly organized BizTech 4.0 on 21st and 22nd June 2023 at AIUB premises. A two-day event that aimed to showcase the remarkable impact of technology on businesses with a focus on expanding students' management skills and expertise, the event promises to be engaging and insightful. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Group Captain (Retd) Dr. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean [FASS], Dr. ABM Rahmatullah, Associate Dean of FASS, Mr. Danilo G. Morgia, Director, IT Operations, AIUB, and inaugurated BizTech 4.0. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam; Director of MBA Program and Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director of BBA Program, Mr. Mehzab H. Nahid, Head, Dept. of MIS and Business Analytics, Dr. Md. Aftab Anwar, Head, Dept. of Management & HRM, Dr. Partha Prasad Chowdhury, Head, Dept. of Marketing, THM and International Business, Ms. Bohi Shahjahan, Head, Dept. of Finance and Investment Management and other distinguished guests visited the events and provided their invaluable opinion.

On the second day of BizTech 4.0, Inter-College Technology based Smart Business Plan Competition and Quiz Contest on ICT in Bangladesh was held as part of the Outreach program of AIUB. Over 200 students and their faculty members from 20 colleges participated in this event. The "Biz-Tech 4.0 Smart Business model" exhibition was held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, in the Multipurpose Hall (Annex -7). Ms. Nazia Farhana welcomed the students and guests and instructed them to create posters for the Technology-based Business Plan. During the exhibition, Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam; Director of Graduate Programs (MBA and EMBA), and Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director of Undergraduate Program (BBA), and other department heads and faculty members were present. These mentors also took the visitors on a campus tour to demonstrate AIUB's culture, architecture, and facilities. The visitor felt enthusiastic and upbeat while walking around campus. The purpose of the event is to provide a forum for college students to share their creative business ideas with industry experts and invited corporate guests in order to receive feedback for the future development and implementation of their ideas. It also improves the students' analytical and problem-solving skills and fosters social responsibility. The distinguished guests and faculty members evaluated the business plans created by the students at the exhibition. The spectators admired the project posters and models' skilful presentation and well-executed handwork. The exhibition was only made possible by the tireless efforts of the respective teachers and students, as well as the support of AIUB Management. All of the students found the presence of the distinguished visitors to be very engaging. After the show, academic and industrial professionals picked the best posters.

The Prize Giving ceremony was inaugurated by the welcome speech of Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director of BBA Program. After her brief speech, the Chief Guest Mr. Fazlul Karim, BMIT and special guest Dr. Mashiur Rahman Mridha, Principal, Narshingdi Independent College and Mr. Habibur Rahman, General Manager, New Age handed over the crests to the competition winners. There are six winner groups from Manarat Dhaka International School & College, Rajuk Uttara Model College, A.K.M. Rahmatullah College, Mirpur Cantonment Public School and College, St. Gregory's High School & College, Shaheed Police Smrity College respectively. The event was also attended by dignitaries from the sponsors. After the closing ceremony, a pleasant cultural program was held by the AIUB Performing Arts Club [APAC]. The program is powered by BMIT and for nationwide coverage, NEWAGE, Bangla Vision and FM 91.2 were the media and radio partners respectively. The program was organized and coordinated by Mr. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid, Dr. Mohammad Sirajul Islam, Dr. Md. Aftab Anwar, Ms. Nazia Farhana, Mr. Jubayer Suhan, Ms. Azmery Sultana, and Mr. Mohammad Baijed. The Faculty of Business Administration would also like to thank the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), AIUB Business Club, AIUB Performing Arts Club [APAC], Office of Sports, and AIUB Administration for providing administrative and logistical support in arranging and concluding this event.
