AIUB’s Advertising and Mass Communication students visit Unitrend Advertising Agency
The field of Advertising has taken an important role in our country today. Marketing products, brands, and even services are being communicated to us daily. One such ad instills in it a collective effort of a group of people, who designed, strategize, and market it to the people for communication purposes. An ad agency constitutes many such operational tasks; an ad agency is known as a hub for creativity and intellect and delivers a series of artistic work for the public eye. To understand this process of creating and innovation the students of Arts and Social Sciences (Advertising department and Mass Communication & Media Art department), American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) visited Unitrend Ltd on 13 November 2008. Unitrend Ltd, a renowned ad agency in Bangladesh, affiliated with McCann Erickson handles several international and national brands like Nescafe, BSRM, Warid, Coke etc. A class studying Advertising under the guidance of Mr. Niaz Majumdar, visited Unitrend to see how an ad agency functions. Mr. Zeaul Ahsan Shamim was kind enough to take the class around from department to department, the students impressed by the different roles of the agency were glad to have been given this exclusive tour. They visited the departments of Client Servicing, Strategy, Consumer Insight, and mainly the Creative section. What followed right after that was an intimate and brief presentation given by Mr. Faiyaz Ahmed, Director of the Consumer Insight Division, and Mr. Azim Ahmed also working for the same team. The students got an understanding of brand building and the process of how from a single idea the final creation emerges. Visiting Unitrend was inspirational to many of the students, creating a desire to be future marketers, creative director, art director, copy writer or a graphic designer of our country. This successful visit in an average day of an ad agency is owed to Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed, the Managing Director of Unitrend, who made the day possible. | ||||||||
