The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) recently marked a milestone in higher education by successfully hosting the first External Quality Assessment (EQA) site visit by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) in Bangladesh, for its Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) program. The visit, conducted from January 21 to January 23, 2025, underscored AIUB’s dedication to academic excellence and quality assurance.
During the three-day visit, the BAC EQA team comprehensively reviewed all academic documentation of the EEE program, including the curriculum, and related materials. The team also engaged in extensive interactions with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, faculty members, administrative staff, employers, alumni, different offices of AIUB. The BAC EQA Team also met with the Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor of AIUB during their visit.
The delegation explored the university’s infrastructure, visiting classrooms, laboratories, the library, and IT facilities, gaining a holistic understanding of AIUB's academic environment. AIUB’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC) provided unwavering support throughout the visit, with the entire university community working collaboratively to ensure its success.
At the conclusion of the visit, the BAC team conducted an exit meeting where they provided valuable suggestions for further enhancement of AIUB functionality, which the university will actively consider. The EQA Team also expressed their appreciation for AIUB’s efforts and commitment to quality education. The outcome of the visit will be announced by BAC in the coming days.
