AIUB & SME Foundation signs MOU for organizing Nationwide SME Business Plan Competition

American International University-Bangladesh and Small & Medium Enterprise Foundation are jointly organizing a nationwide SME Business Plan Competition (SBPC) 2011. Students from the public and private university and university colleges around Bangladesh will be able to participate in this program by developing a business plan on a creative idea for a small and medium enterprise. In this regard AIUB and SME Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding on December 2, 2010 for jointly organizing the SME Business Plan Competition (SBPC) 2011. The MOU signing program was held at the VIP lounge of the National Press Club, Dhaka at 3:00 pm. Mr. Aftab ul Islam, FCA, presided over the program. The Managing Director and CEO of SME Foundation Syed Rezwanul Kabir and Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna signed the MOU for their respective organization. The Managing Director and CEO of SME Foundation Syed Rezwanul Kabir, Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Chairman of SME Foundation, Mr. Aftab ul Islam FCA, and Pro-Vice Chancellor of AIUB Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain also spoke on the occasion. Md. Mujibur Rahman, DGM, SME Foundation provided briefing on SME Business Plan Competition (SBPC) 2011. Chairman of SME Foundation, Mr. Aftab ul Islam FCA also answered questions of the members of the press regarding the importance of arranging this kind of competition to encourage new creative idea suitable for small and medium enterprises and also to provide training to entrepreneurs who may have creative ideas but lack the skills of developing a business plan. The competition will be inaugurated on January, 2011. Mr. Lutfar Rahman, Director, Public Relations & Legal Affairs of AIUB, Dr. Ehsanul Huda Chowdhury, Director BBA program, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculties, students, High Officials of the both organizations and representative from renowned print and electronic media were also present on the occasion.
