American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), in collaboration with two leading UK universities, has successfully secured two project grants from the British Council under the Transnational Education (TNE) Exploratory Grant program.
In one project, AIUB in partnership with Birmingham City University (BCU), UK, aims to develop an international professional certification program for digital manufacturing at AIUB. From BCU, Prof. Dr. Javaid Butt, Dr. Ashikul Khan, Dr. Muhammad Adnan and from AIUB, Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Prof. Dr. Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan, Dr. Chowdhury Akram Hossain, Mr. Mahamudul Hassan will work on this project. This initiative aligns with global Industry 4.0 advancements, such as artificial intelligence, digital twins, and big data analytics, and supports Bangladesh’s Smart Bangladesh Vision 2041 by addressing skill shortages and promoting technology adoption in the manufacturing sector.
In other project, AIUB in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, Jahangirnagar University (JU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and other associate partners focuses on widening access to tertiary education for disadvantaged individuals in Bangladesh through the use of generative AI. Prof. David J Brown (NTU), Dr. Arif Rahman (NTU), Mr. Mashiour Rahman (AIUB), Prof. Dr. Risala Tasin Khan (JU), Prof. Dr. Md. Rubaiyat Hossain Mondal (BUET) will work on this project along with other members. This project utilizes NTU’s Inclusive Education Toolkit to enhance accessibility for students with disabilities, learning difficulties, and those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. By integrating AI-powered engagement tools, the project aims to remove educational barriers and improve inclusivity in Bangladesh's higher and vocational education sectors. These initiatives reflect AIUB's commitment to advancing education, fostering technological innovation, and ensuring equitable opportunities for all.
