AIUB Leads British Council-Funded Workshop on Inclusive Education Toolkit

American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) successfully hosted a 3-day hands-on workshop titled “Introduction to the Inclusive Education Toolkit: Supporting Disadvantaged and Excluded Individuals and Communities in Bangladesh” from 22–24 June 2025 at Hotel Intercontinental, Dhaka.

This initiative is part of the British Council’s TransNational Education (TNE) programme, under the project “Generative AI for Good”, and was organized by AIUB in collaboration with Jahangirnagar University (JU), BUET, and Nottingham Trent University (UK).

The workshop featured 10 technical sessions, focusing on AI-powered tools and inclusive strategies to support learners with disabilities, neurodiversity, and socio-economic challenges. Resource persons represented institutions from Bangladesh, the UK, and Saudi Arabia, including NTU (UK), KFUPM (KSA), JU, BUET, and AIUB.

The Opening Ceremony on 22 June was honored by Prof. Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, UGC Member, as Chief Guest, with Special Guests Prof. Dr. M. Mahfuzur Rahman (JU) and Mr. Toufiq Hasan (British Council). Prof. Dr. David J. Brown (NTU, UK) joined as Guest of Honour, and Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam, Vice Chancellor of AIUB, chaired the event.

The Closing Ceremony on 24 June featured Prof. Dr. M. Kamrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor of JU, as Chief Guest, and welcomed Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam (UGC), Dr. Sultan Mahmud Bhuiyan (UCG), and Mr. David Knox (British Council) as Special Guests. Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro-VC of AIUB, chaired the session.

AIUB remains proud to spearhead such impactful initiatives to promote inclusive, accessible, and globally connected higher education in Bangladesh.
