AIUB Faculties participated in “Tier-1 Program Evaluator Training” by BAETE

The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) aims to ensure necessary quality standards of the graduates via accreditation of undergraduate degrees. In order to equip the faculties with the in-depth knowledge of BAETE accreditation, AIUB provides the opportunity to the faculties to participate the advance level training to deepen their knowledge and skills in specific areas of program evaluation for accreditation. Hence, to address and analyze the skills of the evaluators who can assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of programs & interventions, faculty members from different faculties of AIUB did attend the Tier-1 Program Evaluator Training organized by BAETE. The training was conducted in two slots, slot-1 (02-03 February 2024) and slot-2 (09-10 February 2024). Four faculty members Dr. Kamruddin Nur (Professor, FST), Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin (Senior Associate Professor & Head, FE), Ms. Susmita Ghosh (Associate Professor & Assessor, AIUB-IQAC) & Dr. MD Rifat Hazari (Senior Assistant Professor, FE) attended slot-1 training and Dr. Akinul Islam Jony (Associate Professor & Head, FST) & Dr. Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan (Associate Professor, FST) participated the training in slot-2.

The prime objective of the training was to provide the participants with a comprehensive understanding of program evaluation concepts, frameworks, and methodologies. The whole training session was divided into total 8 modules which were conducted by respected resource persons from BAETE. The training session delivered a widespread overview of BAETE accreditation policy, accreditation procedure, 10 BAETE accreditation criteria, evaluating attainment of Program Outcomes (PO), analyzing Self-Assessment Report (SAR), writing Evaluation Team (ET) report, and so on. The training employed a mix of instructional methods including lectures, interactive sessions, quizzes and hands-on activities.  Not only that, but the participants were also encouraged to actively engage with the material and apply the concepts learned from the training through hands-on activities at the end of the session. To recapitulate, the outcomes of the training demonstrate its value in building evaluation capacity, improving evaluation practices, and driving institutional learning and development.
