The American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) delegation—composed of Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Advisor and former Vice-Chancellor; Dulce Corazon Z. Lamagna, Senior Assistant Professor, Faculty of Business Administration; and Carlin Noelle Z. Lamagna, Deputy Director for Planning & Development and Senior Assistant Professor - launched Day 1 of the QS Reimagine Education Conference (December 1–3, 2025) with impactful engagements, strategic collaborations, and active participation across major conference tracks. QS Reimagine Education is the global forum for higher education and edtech innovators. The theme for our 2025 edition is “Mind the Gap – It’s getting wider” taking place at the QEII Centre, Westminster, London.
MOU Signing with Bicol University
A major milestone for Day 1 was achieved as Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bicol University (Philippines). The partnership was made official in the presence of Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin Nebres III, President of Bicol University. This collaboration opens new doors for academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and innovation-driven programs between AIUB and one of the Philippines’ leading state universities. The signing underscores AIUB’s ongoing commitment to global partnerships, regional engagement, and the strengthening of cross-border higher education networks.
Academic Engagements in Breakout Sessions
The day’s academic tracks showcased AIUB’s active investment in shaping the future of education:
- Dulce Lamagna attended the breakout session “Best Use of Generative AI,” exploring novel applications of AI-powered tools in higher education, curriculum transformation, and student learning enhancement. Her participation reinforces AIUB’s efforts to integrate emerging technologies responsibly and innovatively across the university’s academic ecosystem.
- Carlin Noelle Z. Lamagna participated in the session “Learning Assessment + The Power of Partnership,” which emphasized the integration of data-driven assessment strategies with strong inter-institutional collaboration. The session highlighted how effective partnerships can enhance learning outcomes, foster innovation, and support long-term academic excellence. Her engagement reflects AIUB’s continued commitment to institutional development, strategic planning, and forward-looking educational practices.
Expanding Networks and Future Partnerships
Throughout the day, Dr. Carmen Lamagna continued high-level networking with university leaders, conference speakers, and global education stakeholders. Discussions are already underway for additional MOUs—with several universities expressing interest in formal partnerships to be explored and potentially signed within the next two days of the conference.

Day 1 of QS Reimagine Education London has set a strong tone for AIUB’s participation. With one MOU already signed, new opportunities emerging, and AIUB’s delegates fully engaged in the thought-leadership sessions, the team stands poised for an even more productive Day 2 and Day 3 as the conference continues.
