Dhaka, Monday, 3 February 2025 – The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), Malaysia, have officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster academic collaboration and research initiatives. The signing ceremony took place at AIUB's campus, marking a significant step toward strengthening international academic partnerships.
Prof. Datuk Dr. Khairuddin Ab. Hamid, Vice Chancellor of UTS, along with Dr. Abu Saleh Ahmed, Associate Professor at UTS, visited AIUB for this momentous occasion. On behalf of AIUB, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam signed the MoU, while Prof. Datuk Dr. Khairuddin Ab. Hamid represented UTS.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished AIUB officials, including Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. ABM Siddique Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; Mr. Mashiour Rahman, Dean (In-Charge) of the Faculty of Science and Technology; Group Captain (Retd) Dr. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan, Registrar; Prof. Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Treasurer; Prof. Dr. Manzur H Khan, Proctor; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, MBA Program Director; Dr. Md. Abdullah - Al Jubair, Director of FST.; Prof. Dr. Nowshad Amin, Dr. Ziarat H Khan, Deputy Director of Student Services and Welfare; and Mr. Abu Mia Akhan, Assistant Director of PR.
The MoU aims to promote collaboration between AIUB and UTS in various academic areas, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, training programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. This partnership is expected to enhance educational and research opportunities for both institutions, fostering innovation and academic excellence.
Following the signing ceremony, the UTS delegation toured the AIUB campus and expressed their gratitude to the AIUB management for their warm hospitality and commitment to strengthening international academic relations.
