A Robotics Workshop was held at Academia (Lalmatia) on 24th of November, 2017, organized by AIUB and Nerd Community. The event was presented as an educational outreach program aimed at introducing the basics of robotics to high school students in order to help them gain insight into the progressive demands for robotics technology, and also to encourage them to participate in international competitions. The program highlighted on the success of AIUB Robotic Crew's endeavors at University Rover Challenge (URC) in the years 2016 and 2017, as well as at NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge-2017. The audience engaged enthusiastically with the speakers from the event, Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Sabab Iqbal, Miftah Mahmood, Nagib Mahfuz and Sauda Musharrat, as they spoke about their journey through URC as AIUB Robotic Crew member. High school students in the workshop were also able to interact with students from the EEE & CoE department of AIUB who presented their remarkable engineering projects for showcasing. One of the key attractions for this event was to let the high school students get hands-on experience constructing a basic soccer robot with the assistance of the current AIUB Robotic Crew team. The effort and contribution from the organizers, Nerd Community, made sure the participants thoroughly enjoyed the event. Nerd Community is a student entity, being the first of its kind in Bangladesh, operating as a platform that caters to all academic and career queries from students.
