Professor Dr. Taslima Monsoor, Advisor of the Department of Law at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), recently participated in the prestigious 2024 Global Law Deans' Forum and Annual Meeting of the International Association of Law Schools, held at the University of Lausanne, Faculty of Law, from September 12-13, 2024, in Switzerland.

Session 1: Recent Developments in the Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Legal Education
In this session, Professor Monsoor raised concerns about the potential risks AI poses to human creativity and innovation. She emphasized the need to establish clear boundaries between machine-driven tools and human intervention, questioning, "Where is the human touch?"
Session 3: Navigating External Influences – Strategies for Managing Outside Pressures
Here, Professor Monsoor drew parallels between student activism in Bangladesh and its pivotal role in the country's independence movement. She highlighted the powerful impact of student protests in challenging autocratic governments, underscoring the positive influence such movements can have in driving social change.
The day's events concluded with a formal dinner hosted by the University of Lausanne at Restaurant Le Débarcadère.
On Friday, September 13, 2024, during Session 4: Teaching Critical Issues for the Future – Climate Change, moderated by Sanjeevi Shanthakumar, Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat National Law University, Professor Monsoor stressed the importance of interdisciplinary studies. She called for specialized training for law teachers to better understand the complexities of climate change and to equip them with the knowledge necessary to address these critical global challenges.
