On 11^th June 2015, AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES) conducted a workshop titled “Basics of NI MultiSim and Proteus” at Room No.266, building-2, Faculty of Engineering, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB). The purpose of this workshop was to show the very basics of the two most inevitable engineering tools of an engineering student, NI Multisim and Proteus. The two instructors were Mr. Raja Rashedul Hassan (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) and Mr. Shantanu Nath (Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB).

Prof. Dr. A.B.M Siddique Hossain (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AIUB) delivered the starting speech in which he spotlighted how much salient these two software are in the study era as well as in the forthcoming future of an engineering student.  First speaker, Mr. Shantanu Nath, showed the very basics of Multisim on the projector. Almost all the students carried a laptop with them by means of which they followed the instructions of operating the software. The speaker elaborated different circuit problems, their operations and simulations. Also during this period, he answered several questions and queries of the students present there. After his lecture, a lunch break of 20 minutes was taken and the students were served with foods and beverages. Then, Mr. Raja Rashedul Hassan continued the rest part. A few vital tricks were also displayed. He showed several circuit designs and emphasized on the fact that how readily one can solve complex circuitry problems. Then a quiz contest was held, where the participants were asked to design the circuit drawn by the speakers and perform the simulations. Top 5 winners were selected who have done the correct simulations and provided with certificates as their recognitions.

Mr.Md. Saniat Rahman Zishan (Assistant Professor, Department of EEE & Special Assistant, OSA, AIUB), Mr. Syed Muhammad Baker (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB) and Ms. Shahreen Hassan (Lecturer, Department of EEE, AIUB) graced the seminar with their presence.  At the very end of the workshop, Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan (Head, Undergraduate Program, Department of EEE, AIUB) delivered his ending lines where he asked the participants to keep learning more and more about these two software which will substantiate their knowledge on the engineering skills and then he handed over the crests & certificates to the speakers as a symbol of gratitude. The effective workshop came to an end with a vote of thanks to the speakers and AIUB Community of Engineering Students (ACES).
