In celebration of the foundation week of AIUB, Humanities and Social Science (HSS) Quiz Contest Fall 2019-20 along with a photography contest was organized by the Department of English in its campus in Kuril. This program was inclusive of all the departments from the four faculties namely FST, FE, FBA and FASS of AIUB. The grand finale and the prize giving were held on December 5, 2019. The preliminary round of the quiz contest was held on November 28 in two slots which was participated by around 300 students. From this competitive round, only 24 students were selected to be on the final round with 6 students from each faculty. A number of teachers’ panels from the Department of English were engaged and provided full support in both the preliminary and final round selection procedure. The program was inaugurated jointly by the honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna and Chairman, Board of Trustee, AIUB, Ms. Nadia Anwar at 11AM. Amid a lot of din and bustle at 12:30 on December 5 the certificate and prize giving ceremony started in presence of Prof. Dr. Charles C. Villanueva, Vice President, Academics, Prof. Dr. Tazul Islam, Dean of FASS, M. Hamidul Haque, Head of the Department of English, participating students, and a large number of audience. All the participants and winners were provided with certificate of participation and the Champion and Runner up team members were provided with crests and medals.
