Abstract
Background: Bangladesh is slowly transitioning towards renewable energy to meet increasing energy demands while reducing environmental impacts. Public awareness is very important for the success of this transition, yet generational differences in understanding renewable energy remain understudied. This study aims to assess awareness levels of renewable energy technologies across three age groups: 12-18 years old, 19-30 years old, and 30-60 years old. It also observes the level on interest and willingness of each age group to embrace and transition to renewable energy technology. Methods: Surveys were conducted to evaluate respondents' knowledge of renewable energy sources, projects, and applications. Responses were analyzed to identify generational disparities and areas requiring targeted awareness efforts. The results are portrayed in the form of a heat map, pie chart, and bar chart for a mix of quantitative as well as qualitative analysis of the situation. Expected Results: 19-30 years old people are expected to show higher awareness due to exposure to contemporary education, while 30-60 years old people may have limited knowledge of advanced technologies. 12-18 years old people show much interest but lack detailed understanding. Conclusion: The study will provide information about generational awareness gaps, and suggest strategies to build up public knowledge of sustainable energy adoption in Bangladesh.
