Abstract

Social media is a very common and popular Phenomenon in the present modern world, and it affects all aspects of our lives. For this reason, education or academic performance is one of the aspects that is significant. This research explores how excessive social media usage can affect a student's academic performance. For this purpose, the Quantitative research method was applied through the Survey Questionnaire. The survey questionnaire was developed using Google Forms, and it was distributed to the University Students, where 73 students took part in this study. The research explores both positive and negative sides of excessive social media usage. The research recommends that using social media in a balanced approach can help students and their academic performance in a great way.
