Abstract
Sleep is fundamental for optimal cognitive performance, yet many university students struggle to maintain consistent sleep patterns due to academic pressures, social obligations, and lifestyle choices. Poor sleep habits can significantly impair concentration, attention, and memory, critical factors for academic success. This study aims to examine how various aspects of sleep, including duration, consistency, and quality, influence the concentration levels of university students. It seeks to identify links between irregular sleep behaviors and reduced academic focus, explore common sleep practices, and suggest practical strategies to enhance concentration through better sleep routines. Data will be collected through online surveys distributed via Google Forms to a sample of 100–300 students from multiple universities, ensuring a representative and statistically valid dataset. The study will analyze both quantitative variables—such as hours of sleep per night, variability in sleep duration, bedtime and wake-up time, concentration scores, and reaction times in simple attention tasks—and qualitative variables including sleep quality, use of electronic devices before bed, sleep type, consistency in sleep schedules, and demographic factors like gender or academic major.
