Abstract

"Background: Bangladesh textile industry, a vital contributor to the national economy, always has been facing a persistent challenge in balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability. The traditional dyeing process needs vast amount of water and rely heavily on hazardous chemicals resulting environmental harm. Over the past decade, eco-friendly dyeing process have been introduced to solve the issues aiming in mind water conservation, reduce of chemical usage and use of renewable energy. Objective: The objective is to showcases the impact of these sustainable practices and their impact on environment and economic growth. Methods: This research uses case studies and quantitative analysis to asses eco-friendly dyeing outcomes, focusing on factory adaptation, conservation of water, chemical reductions, investments, worker training, renewable energy and economic benefits from sustainable textile exports. Results: The findings of the study shows that there is increased adaptation of eco-friendly dyeing, achieving significant water savings, reduced chemical use and enhanced sustainability through solar energy. Though challenges like high costs, limited technology and policy hurdles persists occurs government and NGO are supporting and boosting exports of sustainable textiles. Conclusion: Eco-friendly dyeing process have showed their effectiveness in critical environmental challenges in the textile sector while boosting economic growth. By reducing environmental footprint and using resource efficiently these technologies align with global sustainability goals. Better investment, eco-building initiatives and supportive policies are essential to solve the existing challenges and maximize the long-term benefits of sustainable dyeing practices in Bangladesh.
