Abstract
Background: Climate change has become a global crisis that is certainly putting materialism in jeopardy and threatening the livelihoods of millions of people. Excessive temperatures, rainfall patterns, sea level rise, and irregularities have been observed for the last 2 decades. These are not only harming the environment but also causing huge damage to food security and water scarcity. The main goal of this research is to examine the long-term environmental, ecosystem, and economic impacts of climate change. Methods: A survey analysis was conducted using datasets from 2000 to 2025, obtained from UNEP, IPCC, NASA, and FAO. The study links temperature anomalies, temperature changes, and adverse climate changes to agricultural productivity. Data on those who lost their homes and jobs due to changes in temperature, weather, and rainfall were collected and analyzed together. Ecosystem degradation and community-level impacts were assessed. Data collection and analysis using maps that show places and locations. Results: Global temperatures are rising by 1.2° Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels. This is causing climate change as well as the loss of agricultural land. 45% more people are living in poverty. 35% of wetlands and 20% of forests have been lost since 2000. Countries around the world are taking action against climate change, but the plans are not working to control it. Only 30% of those affected are receiving help. Conclusion: As much as climate change is harming nature, it is also acting as a curse for poor people whose livelihoods depend on the climate. With proper use of natural resources and planning, people can adapt to this to some extent. The countries of the world must work together against climate change to make the Earth habitable.
