The Department of Marketing, and Tourism & Hospitality Management (THM), Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), organized a seminar on “The Rise of Tourism and Travel Systems: A Bangladesh Perspective” on September 17, 2024, at the Media Studio of Annex 2.
The workshop started with a short introductory speech by Mr. Soumendra S. Das, Associate Professor, Department of Marketing. The seminar was conducted by Ms. Mahfuza Sultana, Lecturer, Pabna University of Science and Technology. The seminar covered different topics like Fundamentals of Travel and Tourism System, Tourist destinations and life cycle, Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI), Tourism market overview, an international perspective, and Tourism and travel industry in Bangladesh. A good number of participants from different core and major courses of Marketing, and THM participated in the workshop.
The objective of the workshop was in line with key sustainable development goal (SDG) of the United Nations “Quality Education”. The focus of the Department of Marketing & THM on organizing this type of workshop reflects AIUB's commitment to excellence in education and its dedication to nurturing future professionals in the marketing domain.
The workshop was organized by Prof. Dr. Partha P. Chowdhury, MCIM, Chartered Marketer (UK) & Head, Department of Marketing, THM, FBA. Mr. AKM Kamrul Haque, Sr. Assistant Professor, played the role of Coordinator on behalf of the departments. The session was ended by giving a vote of thanks to the participants, organizers, and resource persons by Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Associate Professor, & Director, BBA Program. On behalf of the Department of Marketing, and THM, Dr. Khondaker Sazzadul Karim, Associate Professor handed over a gift item to the resource person. The Department of Marketing & THM expressed sincere appreciation for all administrative and logistical support received from the AIUB Management.
