The Department of Management Information Systems, FBA, AIUB has organized a seminar titled "Career Opportunities in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)" on Wednesday, February 22 from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. at Multipurpose Hall, Annex-7. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a tool for firms to accommodate the utilization of technology in the corporate sector to achieve Operational Excellence, automate business processes, and enhance their decision support process. ERPs are essential for businesses that must optimize their systems, stay up with customer expectations, and expand their operations. Using an ERP system, a business may expedite customer service, remove repetitive processes, consolidate data, and enhance team dynamics. Mr. Sami Afzal, CEO of Eitekh ERP Ltd., was the Resource Person for this seminar. He has received his Master of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from Texas A & M University and Queens University respectively. He is one of the most accomplished SAP solution architects in Bangladesh and a seasoned Management Consultant who specializes in delivering the SAP product suite. Throughout North America and Germany, he has successfully installed SAP systems in several sectors, including Pharmaceuticals, Utilities, Transportation, Manufacturing, Energy, Mining, Banking, and Government. Sami has a demonstrated background of partnering as a trusted adviser with the offices of the CFO to build enterprise-wide initiatives with a focus on long-term growth. The popularity of these SAP-Solutions is due to their significant extent of customization and ability to meet any organization's needs. In addition, participants were provided with precise projections of the existing and future needs of individuals with SAP skills. With an engaging Q&A, inquiring students learned how to acquire the skills required to pursue a career as an ERP specialist. Enterprise Resource Planning, Advanced Business Statistics, MIS and Computers, and Business Applications students attended the seminar. Azmery Sultana, Lecturer, Dept of MIS was Emcee of the program. Mehzabul Hoque Nahid, an Assistant Professor in the MIS department, presented the concluding remarks and Danilo G. Morgia, the Director of IT operations, delivered the vote of thanks.
