On the 30th of January 2020, the students and staff of the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) commemorated the Saraswati Puja – the festival celebrated to welcome the Hindu Goddess, Saraswati, who is believed to bestow the wealth of knowledge.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, the Vice-Chancellor of AIUB, together with the institution’s community of Hindu students, faculty, and officials. The ‘Onjoli’ was then held by presenting flowers at the feet of the Goddess, in order to break the Fast observed by the Hindus on the auspicious occasion, which was then followed by the ‘Prasadam’, where the holy offerings were distributed amongst everyone. The occasion was brought to a close with a cultural program organized by the AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC), whose musical performance ended the holy occasion on a beautiful note. The blessed program of the “Saraswati Puja Bani Archana” was attended by almost 1000 students and staff of the institution.
The Puja rejoiced the arrival of the Goddess Saraswati, with everyone offering their prayers, in hope of receiving her holy blessings for the prosperity of all.
