In a significant step towards enhancing digital learning and connectivity, the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) officially launched its campus-wide high-density free Wi-Fi service for students. The inauguration ceremony took place on September 4, 2024, marking a new era of seamless digital access for AIUB's student community.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of AIUB Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Ms. Nadia Anwar, who jointly cut the ribbon to symbolize the official opening of this state-of-the-art facility.
Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam emphasized the university's commitment to fostering a technologically advanced learning environment, stating, "This initiative is a testament to our dedication to providing our students with the resources they need to excel academically and stay connected in today's digital world."
Ms. Nadia Anwar expressed her enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the importance of accessible internet for all students. She noted, "Our students are at the heart of everything we do. This free Wi-Fi service will not only enhance their learning experience but also ensure they remain connected with the global community."
The high-density Wi-Fi network, designed to support thousands of simultaneous users, will cover all areas of the campus, including classrooms, libraries, corridors, and outdoor spaces. This initiative is part of AIUB's broader strategy to integrate cutting-edge technology into the academic experience, ensuring that students have access to the tools they need to succeed.
The launch of the free student Wi-Fi is expected to significantly benefit the AIUB community by enabling smoother access to online resources, supporting collaborative projects, and facilitating a more connected campus environment.
As part of the rollout, the device registration process will commence next week, allowing each student to register up to two devices. The registration process will be posted on the noticeboard in due course.
