National Renewable Energy Conference and Green Expo is an event that marks a milestone in renewable energy discourse and innovation. This year, in 2024, the 24th National Renewable Energy Conference and Green Expo 2024 has been organized by the Institute of Energy, University of Dhaka, in collaboration with the Green Tech Foundation Bangladesh and was held on May 22nd and 23rd, 2024, at the Nabab Nawab Ali Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka. Ms. Susmita Ghosh (Associate Professor-FE and Assessor -(AIUB-IQAC)) availed the opportunity to participate this prestigious event which gathers industry leaders, experts, and enthusiasts to explore the latest advancements in renewable energy and sustainable practices. It was a 2-day long event which featured Dr. Hasan Mahmud MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the chief guest and was chaired by the esteemed Vice Chancellor, University of Dhaka, Prof. Dr. A.S.M. Maksud Kamal. The program was also enlightened by the presence of special guests like H.E. Achim Tröster (Ambassador to Germany in Bangladesh), H.E. Alex Berg von Linde (Ambassador of Sweden in Bangladesh), Dr. Atiur Rahman (Former Governor, Bangladesh Bank), Mr. Habibur Rahman Senior (Secretary, Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Recourses) and Edimon Ginting (Country Director, Asian Development Bank). The event commenced with inspiring keynote addresses from the chief guest and the chairperson, highlighting the urgent need for renewable energy adoption and sustainable development in Bangladesh. Over the two days, attendees engaged in a series of enlightening panel discussions, technical sessions, and workshops covering a wide array of topics, including solar and wind energy, bioenergy, and innovative energy storage solutions.
