By Dr. Silverine de Silva “English in Action” the second of its kind, was once again held in all its pomp and grandeur with enthusiastic students and teachers pulling themselves together to make it a success… and a success it was! Organized by the Department of English, of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), under the able guidance and leadership of its Head, Dr. Faheem Hasan Shahed, the event took a new turn with the introduction of one new category. The categories that students participated were:  Oration, Impromptu Speaking, Dramatic Monologue, Choral Recitation, Manuscript reading and the new event -  One-Act Play. This year’s contest was not restricted to the students of English, but was also open to the Business Communication students. It should be noted that all the finalists for the Choral Recitation category emerged from the Business Communication sections.
